Ancient Runes Lesson 8: First 5 Runes in the alphabet
Hello class and welcome to Ancient Runes. My name is Professor Leanne. Just so you know, this is my grading system... A=30 house points(2 or less wrong), B=25 house points(4 or less wrong),C=20 house points(5 incorrect), D=15 house points(6 incorrect), and F=5 points(7 or less) and extra credit=15 points. You'll usually be safe from getting d's because I usually won't have too many questions but sometimes one question will be worth two. Also, we will have quizzes every 5 lessons or so.

And now, without further udo, I present to you...

Unit 2: Writing the Runes!!

For this lesson, I will teach you how to write 10 different runes.  You should be practicing these so that you rememember them because being able to write in a different language can be a benefit to you.  For one thing, knowing the runes is very useful.  Also, in school (not that you should do it in my class since I could read it) you can pass notes and the teacher will not be able to read them if you get caught!  So with that in mind, here are the first 10 runes you will learn this unit.  I will put the names and meanings of each next to its letter.

A: Naudhiz (now-these)- year, harvest, good season

B:   Berkano (bear-kawn-oh)- birch tree

C:   Sowilo (soe-wee-low)- sun, victory

D:   Dagaz (thaw-gauze)- day

E:    Ehwaz (ay-wawz)- horse

F:    Fehu (fay-who)- wealth, cattle

G:   Gebo (gay-boe)- gift

H:   Hagalaz (haw-gaw-laws)- hail, sleet

I:   Isa (ee-saw)- ice, iron, metal

J:   Jera (yare-awe)- year, harvest

note:  I found these images from another website, I did not create them or anything of the sort.
